Clayton Comets (5-6, 4-3) went to the Knightdale Knights (4-6, 3-4) territory for the last game of the season.
Clayton had the 19-10 lead at Knightdale and this one will come down to the wire.
Knights Quez Crowell was on the carry and ran down to the Comet's 31.
Crowell at quarterback looked deep to Kennan Wright for the touchdown, closing it to 19-17 Clayton.
Knightdale got it back again with 2:30 to play in the game.
Crowell was scrambling, looked deep and was intercepted by Cedric Harris.
Then Clayton, was trying to run out the clock but he fumbled and the Knights recovered with 28 seconds left.
Quarterback Dylan Alexander was sac'd by Melvin Godwin, Knightdale recovered with time for one last play.
The pass went up and was caught by Wright but it wasn't enough, Clayton took the 19-17 win.
