Pinecrest falls at New Hanover

Pinecrest quarterback Travis Scales did his part to keep Pinecrest in the game at New Hanover Friday night, but the Wildcats were too much as they topped the Patriots 45-29.

Scales followed a big gain of his own with a two-yard score in the second quarter and after a two-point conversion, Pinecrest (3-3, 0-0 Southeastern) trailed 22-14.

The next drive, however, New HAnover quarterback Bates Taylor hit Trevon Brown for another Wildcats score. They went up 28-14 at the break and downed the Partriots from there.

Pinecrest will play at 5-0 Lumberton next week in the conference opener for each team.
