Lakewood (1A/Tri-County 0-1) loses a close game to Franklinton (2A/Northern Carolina 1-0) Friday night.
At the half Franklinton is up 22-0.
But Lakewood wasn't done yet, Issiah Sellers picks off Franklinton quarterback T.J. Wall's pass.
Then Lakewood's J.J. Tanner looks way down field and finds D.J. Sellers.
Tanner will connect with Sellers again for the touchdown.
In the fourth quarter Lakewood's D takes on the Tank and they stop Tank Yarbbrough at the 4 yard line.
Then Lofton Kerr on back to back runs gets to the one yard line and Tanner on the Keeper makes it 22-14.
Late in the fourth Franklinton's Reggie Williams took the snap and he fights his way in for the score.
The Red Rams hold on Friday for the 29-20 win.
Lakewood is now 0-1 with an away game coming up on Aug. 26 against North Duplin (1A/Carolina 1-0).
Franklinton is now 1-0 with a home game coming up on Aug. 26 against Northern Vance (3A/Eastern Carolina 0-1).
