Too early to tell...WF did what was expected against Millbrook...Same with Heritage...Both teams have away games this week...and both D's will be tested...

Motoman made the comment about Millbrook and Panther Creek being pathetic. From his posts it looks like he is a Sanderson supporter. I thought Millbrooks defense played well, especially since their offense couldn't generate anything.

I'm on record as saying I think WF is somewhat overrated this year, but saying Millbrook is "pathetic" is simply incorrect. Great? No. probably not even "good", but certainly not pathetic.

Waaaaaaaaaaay to early. I need to see consistency from week to week before making a comparison.

I will say this I felt the kid could have thrown for 4000 yards last year but you have to play in the system they have

What is your point? No one overrated Wakefield that I recall.

Last few years Wakefield had a top QB in the area, didn't get them much.

There has not been much bias for Heritage on this board the past few year I have paid attention. So not sure what the issue is when they win a game. Actually it was more that they were overrated from a performance in a scrimmage. The polls I have seen did not overrate Heritage even when they return one of the area's top QBs

Actually. I am very much a WF supporter. Everyone in this town has a side. I was just saying we have two good teams in the area. Gonna be a fun year.

I agree, The Wake Forest high school team, is the team to beat. Reading the statement though it seems it is meant the town of Wake Forest including Heritage is what is implied.
The poster thinks that Heritage proved itself by beating Panther Creek, like it was a hard accomplishment.

They return near every starter except maybe the best player in the state last season.

With 17 starters back from a state championship team, it's pretty obvious they are team to beat

Trust I don't impress with easy win match ups and nice stats that come with it. My point they need a run game when it gets tough against top opponents in the playoffs.

Guess you didn't read my first post where I said that Panther Creek is not a measuring stick.
Again, I don't know if they are a bad team or had a bad night. It was still the first game of the season for both.

I hope Heritage isn't trying to ride Wake Forests coat tails.
They need to make their own road- sorry Panther Creek isn't the team to compare against. They are mediocre at best.
That's as silly as a team saying" We beat Apex or knightdale we are #1 or #2".

Agree and as long as the O-Line stays healthy. Of course, that could be said about every player I suppose.
At least I got to hear some pads pop last night! The off season seems to get longer every year.

If the rb stays healthy Heritage
will make some noise late in the big games

Milbrook had a good defense. They should have a good year. Nice win for WF!

    Still waiting to see Sanderson

Heritage looked really good last night but I'm not convinced it was not at least in part due to a weak opponent.

Panther Creek did not play well last night and I would bet had less than 75 yds of total offense. Part of that was the Heritage defense. This is a good group and the PC QB did not have time to do anything last night.

#22 WR for Heritage could be another Thayer Thomas (now at NC State). Reminded me of him a lot only bigger.

#12 was as advertised and is good. Can't wait to see what he does over the full season.

Person impressed me. He seems to be running with his head on a swivel and flat ran over a couple of defenders last night. Once he gets in the open field, he's gone.

Again, a nice win and I will be interested to see Heritage vs Middle Creek next week before I make a judgement.

A couple of years ago, Heritage beat Green Hope in their opener and started believing the hype and was brought back to earth the next week.

Regardless of opponent heritage showed that if that qb is given any time in the pocket he is going to make life very hard for the defense. Also looked like Person got his mojo back. He was running over people last night.
Did wake forest throw the ball last night or was it the same grind it out run offense?

Both heritage (after suggestions they wouldnt live up to the hype) and WF (after a slowww start) both showed up week 1.

Any thoughts? Or do we need to see week 2?
