Funny how two different people see different things. QB #4 fumbled once, threw a pick into double coverage and threw to no one twice. Qb#12 led them to a TD in 3-4 plays and threw an excellent bubble screen.

I asked a couple Clayton fans and they said 12 started last year as a sophomore and performed well. Not sure how he is getting less reps now. I didn't see a separation.

Clayton has mostly seniors from what I was told and if they play a real game, Gibbons wins. IMO.

Clayton wins at Cardinal Gibbons 14-13. Great football game. 2 Minute situations for both teams. Long runs, play action passes for Clayton. Gibbons has some athletes. Spread attack. Looks like Clayton has some weapons both catching and running. 100+ yds for one back and a 75 Yd TD run by the other. QB #4 looked really sharp with the exception of one bad play. Defense was stifling. Still young on both sides of the ball but looked solid. Could be interesting next week vs Garner.

west looked young but they played against terry sandford could be a long year but they did play against strong competition they also play against the defending 4aa state champs tonight which I want attend so I want know how they looked but the pattential is there just might take a while to rebuild with a whole new coaching staff they have changed both there Defense and Offense but they should still compete with Clayton Cleveland and East Wake South also looked sluggish as well not a lot of depth or players Defense has not improved from last year and offense has been down so far but we will see next Friday when the games count for real

Clayton looked good last night. Although the competition wasn't that great. Saturday should be interesting.

Plenty of kids will cut themselves so that 150 will drop a fair amount.

Most high schools average 30-50 on Varsity and 40-50 on JV. Jerseys are not the problem when it comes to big teams. Helmets, shoulders pads, and locker space is the problem.

Most HS's only have around 35-40 uniforms. No reason to have that many kids on the team. Great for the school that that many kids want to play, but it would be impossible to manage for the staff.

Then you would have the parents of kids who aren't playing getting involved and have a mess on your hands.

OLDTIMECOACH, I also heard that Clayton would have to cut this week or next week. Was told between 140 and 170 kids came out. Those are great numbers, but unfortunately you cant coach that many kids. Not sure how many they will end up on the roster with. Would be nice to see Freshman football brought back, but not every school is able to produce the numbers that Clayton is doing right now and/or have the revenue to field a third team.

"If you know me, then you know that at my core I am a guy that wants to get kids on the athletic fields and courts at every opportunity. We as coaches have the ability to give kids the chance to understand team work, goals and a host of other things. But to do this they have to be on the team.
We at Clayton High School have a big problem. We have more kids that want to be on the football team than we have uniforms. We as coaches want to give every kid a chance but as of right now that can not happen. As if today we had 155+ kids trying out.
Buick has agreed to help us out with a fundraiser. On Saturday from 10-2, if you show up and take a spin around the block in their car, truck or SUV, they will give us up to $20 to spend on equipment for the players. If we get 500 people they will cut us a check for $10,000.
This is a great opportunity to help us raise money for equipment at NO COST."

Lots of cuts. 35-40 players is all you need for varsity. If that many.

Clayton over 140 potential players came out. Corinth Holders has around 50 players out. SSS has around 60 players out. SSS is going spread. AD is running the show and that is what he wants the HC to run.

Wj around 115 and heard SSS only like 65 guys

What do numbers look like for teams? Heard SSS had 85 guys out so far. Clayton around 100. Watched NJ, SJ, and SSS at 7 on 7. SSS looks like theyre going spread.
