@bullcityvillage never said Thompson wasn't good I just said his own field numbers don't support his hype which is why I said how could he overshadow anyone but I heard he had good performances in camp.

    By the way...

I just talked to one of my old heads from Hillside. He said Hillside beat Southern down in 1990 lol.

Welp, at least we know HHS won the 1st matchup of the 90s. lmao Hornets Hornet FS says they didn't play play from 92-95. Somebody else fill in the blanks for the other years.

    1993 - DNP

^^^^haha. Real talk bruh, you been hatin on Hillside from the jump.^^^^

*On The 2014 HornetsThread . Someone said the HHS QB will have to perform at an elite level for HHS to be great this year
.-Your comeback was... "Hillside program is good ... not elite thats pushing it"
Well first of all that poster didn't say they were elite. He was saying what the QB had to do and NOT what the program was. You were so anxious to hate that you didn't even read the post.

Then someone said HHS second wr was overshadowed by Thompson.

Your comeback - "How could any receiver be overshadowed by Thompson?" As if Thompson wasn't good. And then you gonna say "don't get me wrong"...lmao yeah right.

There is no other way to take that statement, other than Thompson can't overshadow a 2nd rec. As if he was not good or even that thought was far fetched. Dabo Swinney and Clemson thought he was CONSIDERABLY more than whatever you were insinuating. I think I'll side with the boys down in Clemson on the evaluation of Thompson.

Hornet FS I came across that game on YouTube a while ago I had fam on both sides when I was a youngin. Even though I bleed Spartan Red I still appreciate great history and Durham High Hillside was definitely a great rivalry. This is for you old HHS DHS heads lol! 1994 Hillside vs Durham High: http://youtu.be/tr4G45UTUfU

Yes we lost to Durham High the last time the two would ever play again. I was a junior FS. Got a pick that game LOL. Matter of fact an old teammate of mine posted the whole game on youtube. All you have to do is search Hillside vs Durham High 94

Hillside definitely had good teams and a lot of talent in the 90's. I played at their then rival high school Durham High in the seasons 91-94 graduating in 95. They closed our school down in 95 with spreading the students out all over to other schools mainly Hillside and Southern. Hillside definitely had talent and good teams in the early 90's

I can't speak for the years after I left but I know for a fact the 96 HORNETS only won ONE game that season against Jordan High. Like I stated earlier I'm only speaking on the four seasons I played. Now if you wanna talk jv records then both my years on jv we had winning season.Freshman year we started 7-0 and finished 7-3 loosing our last 3 games. Sophomore year we finished the season at 6-4.

@mraau95 actually my four football seasons we had three varsity winning seasons. I stated I played JV my freshman and soph years. Both of those years we had winning seasons as well as my senior yr but we didn't make the playoffs my senior yr.. I got moved up to varsity durnng the playoffs my soph year. We missed the playoffs in 95 which was my senior year because they were taking the top 2 teams from the PAC 6 that year and we were tied with Person that year but they beat us in the head to head match up 6-0. The year before that there was 3 playoff berths. The deciding game was Chapel Hill which we lost 19-18 in order to make the playoffs

@hornetfs so pretty much you only had 2 winning seasons in the 90s?? going off what im reading it sounds like you were only good in fall 92 and fall 93

The PAC 6 Conference most definitely was VERY competitive early 90s! Orange,Person,Northern,Chapel Hill, even Riverside was good! Not to hate on Jordan but they never beat us my tenure playing at the "Side".. JV nor Varsity. But, they were competitive. I remember my 10th grade year (JV) we were playing Jordan at Jordan. It was the middle of the 3rd qtr and we were up 64-0! Reggie Love was on the sideline telling us if we score 100 he would look out for us LOL. As soon as he said it the lights of the whole stadium went out! LOL... I guess that was their impression of the "mercy rule" back then. Great times, great competitive games, and memories. GO HORNETS!

Just to clear the air I heard someone say Hillside wasn't relevant in the early 90s. I played from fall of 92-95 graduated spring of 96 so I have a first hand view of at least those four years I played jv and varsity. My freshman and sophomore years we were very much relevant. My freshman year Antonio "Runt" King was the qb. For those who don't know he is the HC now for HHS. Made a deep run in the playoffs only lost two regular season games. One of which we lost to Northern who was a POWERHOUSE by a point from a terrible call on our kickoff! My sophomore year we posted a 10-2 record. Lost to Elizabeth City's NorthEastern in the 2nd round playoffs at County Stadium by 6/7 points. Now my junior/senior years are a different story. We missed the playoffs both seasons. I know for sure the four years I played we did not play Southern jv or varsity in the regular season. Now, we did scrimmage Southern at the Pigskin Classic at Carter-Finley my junior year(94) and we beat them but like I said it was a scrimmage. Hillside has been relevant in football longer than just the 2000 era. GO HORNETS!
