    Leesville and Wfr have seen plenty of struggles. They were not always at the top of the leauge.

    I think it takes more than 11 games to determine if a coach is the right guy for the position and I find it hard to believe that he could lose all parental/booster support in just one year. Doesn't make sense...

    If what ummyeah say's is accurate, the boosters and parents need to give massey a chance and offer some support. Expecting a big change in the won/loss column after one year is not realistic. Ultimately he may not be the right guy but, back him up and give him everything he needs to successfull!

    I agree with strongside. Enloe wasn't a very good program when Massey took it over and I assume he is trying to build a "new" program from the ground up. Whenever you do that, some parents/players are not going to buy in and are resistant. I don't think any coach taking over a struggling program are going to have a smooth first year. It takes time to transition. Sounds like some coaches left for family reasons and he quit coaching altogether but I am not sure. So far that coach is the only heard that one coach left. That is not unusual is it?

    I just like to see struggling CAP-8 teams be given a fair chance. It is easy to get behind Leesville, WFR, and Wakefield.

    I think the most interesting part of the whole thing is. Tommy Moore the AD was involved in the decision to let Ron Clark go as head coach and the hiring of Massey, now Moore has left to be AD at Rolesville high meaning who is the assistant AD at Enloe (Clark). All are class acts but just make for a very "unusual" situation. The Massey days at Enloe gone bad on about every level so far at Enloe and the leaving of the coaches just ads to it. He does not have much support from boosters, parents.... at this point.

    Sounds like coaches left for family reasons. You are right panama, there seems to be changes in coaches (assistants and head) every year at most schools.

    The head coach didn't let any coaches go. They decided to leave. All high school staffs have turnover in coaches.

    @Cap8
    It was going to be tough at Enloe in the first year. This was the first time the HC has been an HC. He let go some of the previous coaches and kept others. It takes time to establish staff chemistry and they did not have it. Sometimes it is better to cut your losses and build from scratch. Will be interesting to see if HC calls the offense again and they try to run the Wing T. You are going to have a hard time recruiting athletes in the school by running that offense on top of the other problems they are dealing with IMO.

    One of the coaches left to spend more time with his family and walked away from coaching.

    Might mean the head coach isnt ready to be head coach. Two sides to every story

    @Strongside

    Do you mean assistant coaches not following the head coach's philosophy? It's tough when assistant coaches try to act like head coaches and not follow the lead of the one in charge. Especially when taking over a struggling program, I imagine everyone thinks they know the answer on how to fix it. Is that what happened?

    Were they teachers too? One difficulty I've noticed in Wake County is it's hard to get quality assistants because there isn't many teaching slots available. You're sometimes limited to trying to hire non-teachers as assistants which isn't always easy.

    Did Enloe fire their coaching staff? I was told that everyone but the head coach was fired.
