    @ Strongside:

    Send your coaching and job resume to central office then you call the school simple to get interview but those two jobs are so intimidating they might get two to four resumes IF there head FB coaching job comes open!

    I'd agree that Scotland is pretty good...and rbailey3 should know as well as anyone.

    I would agree the pay is a joke for what's expected from the coaches. I would have to go with Richmond County. Facilities and support are second to none, but so is the pressure to win. But what coach doesn't want that though? It is what keeps our blood pumping.

    Have to agree with you. Single county schools in NC are best jobs for coaches. Meck has great talent but too many headaches AND low pay

    I think the towns/counties with one school are the best high schools to coach at. You don't have to compete for players, endless support from the community, and you can build a strong tradition. Scotland, Richmond, Kannapolis Brown to name a few. They were able to lure high profile coaches to their schools for that reason. Swain County in 1A...I work for the hospital in Tarboro. Although there are 3 county schools (Southwest Edgecombe and North Edgecombe) Tarboro receives a lot of support from the community.

    The best head coaching job is where parents support the team but leave the Coach alone to do his job without interference or unwanted input.

    The problem with answering the question lies in some of the things people are mentioning along with a few others. Pay does vary around the state...so it does enter into the equation---otherwise you wouldn't be excluding Mecklenberg (Butler, Mallard Creek). Pay, facilities, working conditions, teaching load, athletes, is pressure a part of it? I think you'll get a lot of different answers.

    You have a better chance in the rural counties to negotiate your supplement.

    Yep 2 weight rooms, 4 practice football fields. Booster club (Endless funds in RC) will add money to coaches supplements. The pressure is through the roof. Coach ED RIP went 77 and 7 and got fired!

    @dfmlythr:
    Absolutely underpaid. Not the question though. You read posts where someone says Mark Morris played the booster club to get more. The Richmond county coach has also been rumored to have the best football job and the most pressure. Where can coaches negotiate more then supplements?

    (pay)

    LOL! Take pay out the equation. All coaches are under paid in NC in every sport!

    Where is the best Head Football Coach job in NC?
    If you want to be taken seriously do not mention any Wake or Mecklenberg county schools.
    Again, not the best athletes but the best job including pay, facilities, administration, school responsibilities, etc..?
