All Triangle
Nick, are you letting this thing die? I thought it was great. #1 it extended football, #2 it gave kids more recognition #3 it was a nice way to blend the area.
RE: All Triangle
Its hard when there are so many talented kids. Some will be left off that are well deserving just like some were in all conference teams.
RE: All Triangle
What is your point here? Some kids might be left off, so we should leave them all off.
RE: All Triangle
My point being they are probably having difficulties deciding who to put on the teams because of the number of teams and the number of talented players.
RE: All Triangle
I recall a backlash of negativity from people last year when this was announced.
This may be a deterrent also.
RE: All Triangle
Is there anywhere that Academic All-Conference players are listed for each team?
RE: All Triangle
@cap8fan
Other then parents, who is interested in that?
RE: All Triangle
@strongside
That sums up one of the problems with high school athletics. Everyone talks about the importance of education but nobody wants to recognize or celebrate it. I would like to see how many players who are All-Conference are also Academic All-Conference as well.
RE: All Triangle
I'm with you cap8fan. I always enjoy Tom Suiter's extra effort award and any story that celebrates academic achievement/community service by a talented athlete. As much as I hated watching Josh Joyner run all over us in the playoffs, it was hard not to respect his achievements on and off the field (he was highlighted in a Tom Suiter segment the week before CG played Hunt)
RE: All Triangle
Another yes vote for Academic All-Conference. Let's do what we can to encourage the "student" component of student-athlete.
