RE: Wilson Hunt Coach Randy Raper Quits...Goes to N. Nash
I would question the playcalling even if the sainted Joe Gibbs was the Hunt coach. Fact is, Stevie deserves the opportunity. He started as a freshman in the schools 3rd or 4th year, and I think has been there and involved in our athletic program as either a player, staff of some sort during his college years, and coach/teacher after college. He knows what the Hunt crowd is like when things aint going good and knows it dont take long for us to get rowdy if they aint. I'm not sure many folks that would be given the opportunity could handle us. Stevie Hinnant head coach and Richie Pridgen OC would please me.

Was told he wanted a new "challenge" at this point in his career. NN certainly is that. One excellent year followed by 2 or 3 lousy ones. Can't keep their athletes home. Too many show up at rival schools without moving. Also, outgoing coach would not allow fball players to play other sports, i.e. track or bball. Both these programs fell off the earth. Bball was 1-26 last year. Already 6-7 (I think) this season with fball players on the roster. This was MAJOR in the fball coach's departure.

Trust me when I say there ain't nobody more Hunt Warrior than Stevie Hinnant.

We are truly excited to have Randy at Northern Nash!

I think its a shame that other than this message board HSOT.com has made absolutely NO mention of it. Nick was tweeted by me personally about 5 minutes after the Wilson Times broke the story on their Facebook page. I guess because we're not Wake County there's no interest, but you'd think an area school with a coach that had coached 3 years in a row in the Eastern finals and had over 200 career wins would get a little love. If you aint Raleigh you dont matter. I guess HSOT is about like hunting. If it aint in season no need to worry with it.
