I saw on NC Preps that a Virginia 5a State Championship team from Norfolk wants a piece of the Raiders.Add these guys and it really will be a tough schedule.

Depends on who RC picks up but they might have the toughest schedule in the state! Butler JB and SC! Most coaches would be sick if they had to scheme for those three teams in one year!

Maybe garner , butler, wakefield , or WFR , could fill in !

Wont mention how RC handled yall easily this year either xD

I was just making a statement. That same class that we beat this year was the same team we beat on 9th grade twice. JV and 2 years of Varsity. Most of those guys had 1 year of Varsity experience when we didnt this year and we still won.

  • dfmlythr Dec 15, 2012
    Sports Legend

The only county in N.C. that counts J.V. games is...................... SC!!! Two VARSITY wins against RC in the past 19 years. Back to back wins by the way.

  • thatchargersfan Dec 15, 2012

And obviously i couldnt be talking Varsity if we're only in school for 4 years..just saying.

  • thatchargersfan Dec 15, 2012
    All Star

@teammugs im talking my class from 9th grade up to 12th. 9th grade football we was 7-0. JV football we was 10-0. Our Junior Year obviously 15-0. And Now 12-2. No loss from RC. Get your facts right.

thatchargersfan - 5-0?...pretty impressive especially since SC has been 2-2 against RC in the last 4 years...

@teammugs, go screenshot me talking up or down about ours or another conference. And idc about those 17 years? Our class is 5-0 against richmond lol. And butler is very much capable of losing. just dont think richmond will be the same richmond in years. Idc how bad they'll get they will always beat Purnell lol.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of putting together a football schedule knows that it is not as easy as some on here would think. Just because Richmond needs 2 games, that doesn't mean that schools in Wake County or any other are in position to schedule them regardless of the desire to do so. Most schools made their schedules and signed contracts back in the early part of the year when the realignment was released. Finding games between now and the season will be tough. Matching up weeks, really tough. Then, you have to decide whether or not playing a team is good for your program. If I have an open date and I coach or am the AD from Heritage or some other program in its infancy, do I want to take a team 2 hours to a hostile, football rich environment like Richmond? While it will be a good experience in the long run for the players, what does it do for confidence if they are not ready physically and maturity wise? On the other hand, if I'm Garner or Leesville, I may want to play, but it is likely that my schedule has been set for 8 months now, with signed contracts. Does that mean that I'm scared or won't "man up" as someone stated a couple of pages ago? I think it will be hard (not impossible) to find a good match-up at this late date. Check the NCHSAA open dates for possible openings. Good luck.

thatchargersfan - It cracks me up how SEC fans/players talk up the conference as great and then trash the main (ONLY?)rival as not being able to handle playing a Butler who has been on a great run but is capable of getting beat...and "some years ago" - does than mean 3 through the last 17 or so...

  • thatchargersfan Dec 10, 2012
    All Star

@teammugs just saying i think that would be like RC vs SC some years ago. An overwhelming ratio of losses.

Would have been nice to see Gaffney or Byrnes on their schedule. Well, they still have two open dates.

@Dfmlythr.....In 2002 Scotland defeated West Charlotte 28-9 the first game of the season and lost to Indy 20-7,not 51-15.

NCHSAA 4AA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS - 2002 #10 Scotland Co. 10-3, #3 Independence 13-0, Score Indy 51 SC 15. RC never lost like than against any Charlotte team. Please stop throwing jabs, the season is a year away..........

thatchargersfan - got ya, but RC lost to a Butler team growing to be the top team in the state and during that time('09-'12) only 2 teams beat them...Mallard Creek and Page...

have butler to contact Bailey at Scotland, I would like that match up, it will make us a much better team. Some teams avoid the power house teams on there schedule due to the losses. I welcome all the powerhouse to our schedule, it just makes your program better win or loose.

  • thatchargersfan Dec 5, 2012

butler pulls from around the state lol. but i dont think RC would book butler..who would want to get door matted every year. RC will be 8-2 at best next year. That was a senior driven team. I think they fall off.

have you seen Garner or Leesville play? So why make a statement like that. Not all Schools are like Butler that can have kids come from all over the county to play for them, I know this goes on cause my family has done it.

I agree with dfmlythr. Wake county schools want better respect pencil in your schools name. Garner, Leesville, WFR? Love to see Garner, and Richmond. It would be classic.
