Mark Morris to Clayton??? I doubt that will happen. I did hear that a West Johnson assistant is interested in the job.

A WJ asst's daughter is a cheerleader at Clayton.

I just hope it is a quality guy and would prefer someone with head coaching experience moving up the ladder from a lower division.

^Good point, Randy. I would prefer a proven head coach as well because you don't know what you're getting with an assistant. On the other hand, head coaches were assistants at one point & deserve an opportunity. It's a tough call, especially when loyalty to assistants comes into the picture.

Hope the new coach keeps the majority of the staff. Kids really seem to enjoy and respect the varsity assistants.

Nelson Smith had no experience as a head coach when he was hired in 2000. Worked out pretty good, I'd say. Doubt Morris gets any consideration at GT...
