Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

Tarik Cohen in my eyes should be getting a lot of offers. Its a shame colleges overlook him because of size, that kid can flat out play!

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

Agreed. He is like a fish in water. Explosive speed, ability to stop and turn on a pin head, and the stamina to go with it. Hits like a player twice his size too. Whoever picks him up will be the envy of their opponent.

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

What is his size? Height/weight?

It is sometimes a shame that most D-1 colleges go after the bigger athletes while smaller athletes may be just as good if not better. It's unfortunate but that is the nature of the big-time football.

I would say keep working hard and it will all work out in the end. Good luck!

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

he is very good i see him play

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

@sweetnsour13 he is 5"7' 165

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

That size would be the problem. If he was about 5'10-6'1 maybe because they could put weight on him. Unless he is an underclassmen and still has more growing to do.

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

I agree with you but big d-1 schools look for size for a reason. Imagine how banged up a 165lb running back would be after being hit over and over by 300+lb d lineman. This happens a lot and these type of players will dominate at the lower level but they just won't be able to withstand hits. It really is a shame and I am sure this young man will have a great career wherever he goes. Good luck to him.

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

His size will be a factor but has anyone heard of this guy Gio Bernard at UNC, yea the front runner for ACC poy. He is listed at 5'10 but thats in cleats and a helment, maybe. he stands about 5'7 and does major damage. Similar style to Cohen.

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

Whatever team (school) gets him will soon learn how lucky they are. It won't be D-1 but FCS should be knocking down the door and they are not. He can play RB, KOR, PR and defense on special teams. He loves the game and no 300 lb. guy scares him. After the collision, the story may be reversed! He can run through tiny creases, he has great moves, he can run a 4.35 forty and with good coaching....he'll get better! He won't be able to do some of the things he does in HS and he should not. Who will the lucky school be?

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

Well put Cisco.

I should clarify my earlier statement: he is like not just any fish but a slick lean Barracuda in the water, built for speed and quick strikes. A real gem on anyone's recruiting board.

Cohen had 6 returns for TD and around 800 yds on special teams alone, and at least one more called back return I can think of. He likely would have had over a 1,000 yds in returns if not for all those penalties Bunn endured. It was mystifying to watch him emerge from gang tackles over and over again, sprinting the sideline, and taking on everyone that wanted to bring him down. He repeatedly froze tacklers in their tracks, and left others tied in a naked knot.

Good luck at the next level Tarik! Thanks for all you've brought to Bunn!

RE: Is Tarik Cohen (running back from Bunn) a D-1 player.

As I have attended a few recruiting meetings, unfortunately size does matter. It's a shame that desire and drive doesn't factor more in the equation.
