Cleveland, that would be big. It would be huge for coach Eason at NS. This is their 4th or 5th 14-0 season since the school opened in 2001. SWO is hungry as well. The real kicker is next season SWO is coming back to the ECC with NS. The buzz has already started. JD news already ran a story about it. That's crazy. The season is not even over yet. Stay tuned. I promise you, this will be huge. Stay tuned. JHS and SWO won the 3A and 1AA soccer state titles yesterday, so two more trophies would be nice.

truebeliva, I haven't missed a championship at Carter-finley in 6 yrs and hope that we we'll get a 1AA- SWO vs Swain & 2AA NS vs Salibury game. Bring back two trophies back to Onslow county.

Havelock is special, no doubt about it. NB was up 34-13 entering the 4th and stepped off the gas. Only team so far that could keep up with Havelock. I don't think they would hang in to long with Havelock.

I am making my first trip to Northside tonight to cover this game for Football Friday. I'm looking forward to it. Hope you guys have some heaters down there!

Cleveland, NS is good, but very few defenses can handle Havelock's speed. New Bern had a big lead at the half, and Squeaked by with a 2 point win. Havelock has speed to burn. To answer your question: Northside would hang in early, and be blown away late.

truebelva, It will be a great fb game, Bunn will be ready. Just wondering, how do you think NS would stack up against HAVELOCK this year.

Greetings from Jacksonville, NC. I have a bird's eye view of the NSHS Monarchs. I expect a great game as well. The Monarchs are super aggressive. Every yard will be earned, and every catch (or dropped ball) will cost you big time. They also give out ample punishment when they run the ball. If you use poor technique when tackling those running backs, you will be humiliated, lying on your back looking up at the Friday night lights. There will be absolute zero tolerance for finess. If I can take a quote from Mr. T (Clubber Lang) in "Rocky 3," when the reporter asked for his prediction on the fight: His reply was PAAIIN!!! If you are of fan of bone jarring hits, this will be a heck of a game for you. GO MONARCHS!!!

Bunn has to travel to undefeated, # 1 ranked Northside this Friday in the 2-AA bracket. The 2-AA gets overlooked a lot but I like Bunn's chances this Friday. They have a reciever Jonathan Alston who is electrifying and will be playing on Saturdays next Fall and one of the absolute best running backs anywhere in Tarriq Cohen. Their defense is tenacious as well. Who wins this game?
