We really appreciate the support Coops. I feel like even though we win these games we are getting support from the teams we beat. I saw southern nash fans. Cardinal Gibbons fans at the game this past friday. It is humbling to know you guys are behind us and we really appreciate it. Win or lose next friday you can bet we will give everything we got!

I dont think Randy Raper will be having any pre game antics as far as any bucket of dirt goes. Hes just gonna WALK hos Warriors onto the field and be all buisness and keep it classy.

OH, no JSH, I just referring to the last 3 weeks on different message bds not what Hunt fans were saying, Hunt fans were great!! Now on to the Eastern Championship game: I know all our Cleveland fans will be supporting Hunt and hope that the Warriors will be dumping that bucket of dirt on that nighthawks field next Friday night.

how are your boys not getting the credit they deserve? You got a Cleveland helmet on the set of channel 17s football show, the N&O had a big write up about y'all, you had a good state, Fab 15, and HSOT power ranking, and nobody has dissed y'all here, and Hunts biggest message board loud mouth (ME!) said y'all were the better team last night. Please elaborate, sounds like you need a little cheese.

I will agree with you Clevelandfb65 the passing game was the reason we won. And we didnt execute out of the cat. On your last point as far as Hunt players and fans go Cleveland definately earned our respect you guys got a fine program. I think the fact that you guys are still new may have something to do with it. It took a while for Hunts name to travel up to Raliegh and out West. Just keep doing what you guys are doing and recognition and reputation will come no doubt. But like I said Hunt fans and players wont forget cleveland anytime soon.

Congrats to Hunt, they played very well. Somethings I took from the game. 1. How much that 7 ft qb means to the offense, when he went out it just changed the momentum. A lot of Hunts fans were upset over going to the passing game which I thought was the reason why they won. 2. Hunts O line just doesn't block as good in the Wildcat, our def. just shut their run game down when they shifted to the Cat. 3rd. Hunts defense is really good on the corners, it will be very hard for TJ Logan to run to either side, they cover very well. 4th. it still amazes me how little respect our boys get even after what they've done over the past two years.

  • MojoMadness Nov 17, 2012

My only question on Hunts part is WHY do you try to convert 4th down with a fake punt when you are up two TDs? I dont see the logic in this. The momentum was clearly swung our way. Make them drive the field! It seemed after Cleveland held us on that play the got a little wind back in their sails and picked up some. But hey great sprtsman ship from players and fans alike. if you watch the friday night football tape of the game you actually see a hunt fan come out and help the Cleveland reciever up in the endzone. Thats what its all about right there!

Turnovers will get you every time. Hunt capitalized on 'em and edged out the win. It was good to finally see the Rams in person on the field. All week long I had the feeling that Cleveland was going to win this game. I just figured with their high-powered offense that they would put up somewhere close to 40 points and that Hunt would have to match them. I felt that Cleveland had a better offense and that Hunt had a better defense. But defense wins so many times.

With Hunt forcing multiple turnovers, it proved to be the Rams' demise. Still, after Hunt scored 3 straight TD's to go up 21-7, the Rams battled back and took the lead on the last play of the 3rd quarter, 28-27. I thought that Cleveland had taken the momentum at that point. As has been said before, though, Hunt finds a way of winning those close games and that makes the difference in advancing to next Friday.

I've heard before about Cleveland's pooch kickoffs, but I'm not so sure that I'd want to give Hunt the ball close to midfield each time. It seemed like the Warriors started every drive around the "W" logo last night. All it takes is a big gain or two from Joyner and the Warriors are already in the red zone. The pooch kicks are effective at times in high school because it seems we see kids drop or fumble the ball trying to field it in just about every game. But it must be effective enough or Cleveland wouldn't continue doing it.

Congrats to Cleveland on another great season. I'm absolutely impressed with what you guys have done in just a short couple of years. This is a team that will contend for years to come.

Congrats to Hunt for earning another difficult win.

Glad you enjoyed your visit, y'all are welcome anytime. You know, for 2 years in a row NG brought their bucket and dumped that potentially contaminated Guilford County dirt on our hallowed Wilson County native fescue. We owe it to them, it would no doubt enhance the soil over there, but not sure its very sportsmanlike. I didnt like them doing it to us at least, then again this may be our last opportunity for payback. Thanks again for coming down, wouldn't have taken much for it to be you guys heading north of Greensboro Friday night.

@ Canes...Come on back to Wilson anytime we would love to have ya. Moreover I was hoping that these two teams could get a preseason series started. With the disatance between both schools it shouldnt be hard just a trip down 42. Glad you guys enjoyed yourself, other than the outcome im sure, but hey Cleveland played a heck of a game and have nothing to be upset about in my opinion. Down to a great team by two TDs they fought back and even lead at one point. I was sweating there for a while.

This was a great game to watch. I agree with Canes. I sat on the Hunt side, enjoyed those end zone grill sausages and watched 2 teams battle it out. The fans from both teams showed up in large numbers.... The last two games for Hunt have been 5 point wins and basically both came down to the last seconds of play. Good luck to Hunt next week and don't forget to bring your bucket of dirt to dump in the NG endzone !

Well... losing this game on the last play was the hardest thing to swallow in my life. Kudos to Hunt for a great game... I'm shocked that my days of watching Rams football is over as a senior. I'm so proud of the team for the great 3 years they had given to us seniors at Cleveland. I am proud of going 22-6 in the first two years of varsity football (not including undefeated first year of JV football my sophomore year) while making it to state semifinals in 3A and making it to state quarterfinals in tougher 3AA. I am so thankful for the memories that the Rams have given to me for rest of my life and for being able to cheer with rest of #RamFam the last 3 years. LET'S GO RAMS!

Wow Kevinwatson...I didnt think of our home record on those terms. Unblemished at home for two years in a row and only the 3-AA state champs can claim victory in Warrior Stadium...Thats an awesome feat. Its Hunts job to maintain that this Friday against a high power offense. I have seen some video on Cleveland and the appear to be balanced in both run and pass. Should be the best game in the 3-AA East bracket.

Go HUNT! MOJO! ...And the tradition continues.

  • BigKev71 Nov 14, 2012

Hunt wins at home, especially if the refs let them play their game. Warrior Stadium is a tough, tough place to play and win. Only visiting team to do so past two years was the eventual state champs both times, Northern Guilford. Hunt's offensive line and defensive ends will be the difference makers in this game. Look for them to control the line of scrimmage.

Sounds good I'll be within 2 yards either side of the 50 bout half way up.
I told somebody yesterday I thought Gibbons was one of the better tackling teams we have played. Raper said in the Extra Effort Award report that Joyner had the best vision of any RB he had seen.
