You guys are sleeping ,how about a real reponse ,if you want your young men to get any recognition you have to read this blog before you come strong and then really support them .it doesn't matter if they are 1a - 4a,you have to come strong for these young men who play their hearts out, keep hammering the media.

If McDowell stays healthy, he might go over 2100yds. The 3a conference Grays Creek plays in isn't very strong. They already beat Byrd and still have to play South View (4AA). Other than those 2 games it seems like a cake walk until playoffs and he'll keep putting up huge numbers.

Like JSH said Hunts Josh Joyner 13.5 yds a carry. 941 total after 5 games...oh yeah hes only played past the second half one game. Kids a beast.

@byjsh,I disagree ,the n an o can be lame sometimes.i have coached on a team right here in Cary that in the last six years produced two all state players who were invited to play in the oasis bowl and these young men were in the proverbial backyard of the n an o and never got mentioned and the folks there were informed about those two young men and never gave them the time of day .myself and others have offered them help on this matter but again all you get is a lame five word sentence or less response.

McDowell plays the B back in Grays Creek's wing T offense. Very strong player.

In their defense the N+O has so many schools in their immediate area they probably count on some kind of correspondence from the school or staff for their stats. If they are truely a state wide newspaper they need to expand their coverage area, no schools from the east where you can pick up an N&O anywhere. Do they even carry the south Fayetville schools?

@luvdefense how come the n and o don't give this kid props? McDowell sounds like a total stud.

Josh Joyner at Hunt has 941 with a 13.5 avg per carry and has only played into the 2nd half twice but I assume you meant the N&O coverage area and not HSOT or WRAL.

Heard a lot about him and his stats but didn't know he came over from WFR.WOG has a good nose for finding these guys .they found quintarious Yarborough from enloe for his junior and senior years and shredded the 8 man league.we face WOG this Friday at Cary Christian ,tough to beat outside speed and he is more physical than Yarborough and plays defensive back.

Ken McDowell from Grays Creek has 1,187yds and 17tds. He's averaging 237 yards a game.

I wondered where Casty St Louis went... he showed a lot of talent at WFR last year (I'm assuming he's the same person). That would have been a really crowded backfield if he was still there.

Actually the width is ten yards narrower but I agree, three less defensive players helps ,still awesome to watch ,can you say track meet when he gets to the outside?

8 man is easier to run then 11 man. more space in 8 man

When talking about the most exciting players in the area lets not forget about the coverage area's leading rusher, Dedrick Stacker from Triton. Well, 11 man football's leading rusher....

    791 Yards (1st in N & O, *besides WOG player*)
    10.68 Yards per carry
    11 Rushing TD's (12 Total)
