SANDERSON 2012
How is Sanderson going to be this year? Is it true the QB last year transferred to Leesville and will be a backup there for his senior year? They had a really good DB/WR last year #9. Is he back? Trying to get excited about the new season at Sanderson but have not seen anything in the forum or in paper.
RE: SANDERSON 2012
They will finish last in the Cap 8 like every year, it is sad because they have athletes every year but just don't seem to put the pieces together
RE: SANDERSON 2012
Athletes every year? They work their tails off year round, well coached and are very organized, but being athletic is not how I would describe Sanderson every year.
RE: SANDERSON 2012
trianglefb1 You are out of your mind.
Well coached????? Why 3 different offensive schemes in 3 years,(One of which was like a pop warner offense) how do you build a program by doing this?
Had an incredible smart student athlete to build a winning team/program around since 9th grade, not to mention one of the most supportive parents in the world, and His program sent them running, and going to our rival team.
Yes they have lots of good athletes at Sanderson, look at their soccer and wrestling program. Trouble is, the football teams coaching and record is so bad these athletes shy away from wanting to play. There is no motivation and nothing positive happening to change it. He even had trouble getting a soccer player to kick Field Goals for him last year.
Remind us, whats their your record over the last 2 years, 1 and 22?
The school has NO PRIDE in their football team, most kids have no respect for Lewis as a coach, he is unapproachable to most students.
Sanderson football is the laughing stock of not only the CAP 8 but of the entire Triangle area. The kids deserve a fighting chance to succeed, the kids only have one chance in high school.
Why will he not give up this head coaching position to someone else so he can be athletic director, he is trying to both right now.
I am really tired of trying to support a losing program, with no apparent direction to become successful.
RE: SANDERSON 2012
Coach Lewis is great man, a great leader of people and young men, and the Cap 8 and Triangle area are lucky to have a guy like Coach Lewis leading the Sanderson football team.
RE: SANDERSON 2012
Have to agree with loedownsports...IMO Sanderson's location works against it being so close to Millbrook and Leesville and Broughton with open enrollment...
Get specific
loedownsports..I appreciate your perspective but based on what successes? I was specific in my criticism, you need to be to.
I have been an involved football volunteer for several years now, Lewis or his coaching staff have hardly said a word to me. A great man and a leader of people would have thanked me as a volunteer many times over if this was true.
Once again I say a well coached PROGRAM does not change offenses 3 times in 3 years.
RE: SANDERSON 2012
It looked like at the pigskin that they had a pretty talented little back
RE: SANDERSON 2012
Spread offense, last year I formation and this year I formation - 3 years, 2 offenses to fit the players in the program. When you say you volunteer for the team what exactly do you do? Do you also criticize the coaches and program out in public the way you do on here? If so, I would not have much to say to you either, because you are a part of the problem at Sanderson. Everyone is so quick to criticize the coaches as soon as something goes wrong, which creates doubt in other parents who in return go home and create doubt in their sons who then go to other players and create doubt in them. Hence, the biggest issue inside the program for the past 15 or so years. Those players and coaches work their tails off to provide a product. No one wants to be more successful than they do. No one agonizes over the defeats more than they do. No one lives that program year round more than they do. Approachable? I guess that means Coach Lewis does not give everyone the answer they want when they approach him. I know for a fact he is a man of integrity, very giving, loyal and to say he is not approachable is laughable. I am sure they appreciate your assistance in volunteering, but believe me you are only tearing apart of the fabric of all of the effort of the players ad coaches when you crticize openly their approach and dignity. The biggest obstacle at Sanderson is believing when adversity strikes and your negative attitude and criticism sure hinders that. Get on board and support or Go Away. Go Spartans, I will be pulling FOR you in the good times and even more when you need us the most, the tough times. Players and Coaches, WE / I support you!
RE: SANDERSON 2012
I would be referring to his success as a person in the community and as a coach in this area for close to 20 years now. I was a little kid around Coach Lewis, I was a teenager around Coach Lewis, and I have coached against him. That specific enough?
