Just wondering how the Wake County fan base feels about Gibbons this year...will they still be the team to beat?
RE: Local 3A
They should be good again. Have some holes to fill, like breaking in a new QB, and lose some key defensive players, but they have two of the best players in the triangle at RB in Grazen, and DT in Carroll.

The Carolina 6 will be very interesting this year. It will be interesting to see how things play out between Gibbons, Chapel Hill, Orange, and S. Vance. Webb should be better as well. With Gibbons winning the conference and it being a three way tie for second place I heard Chapel Hill had alot of returners and I know Orange has about their whole squad returning it will be interesting. Grazen is one heck of a talent
RE: Local 3A
They have a junior qb Dante DiMaggio , he took Cary christian to the 8 man championship as a freshman, definetly has the size ,arm ,eyes downfield, and good speed for a 6-2 + qb.should really be someone to follow along with the rest of the talented young men in all of the conferences.
RE: Local 3A
Two good ones at QB in DiMaggio, and Sean Stankavage, son of former UNC QB Scott Stankavage.
RE: Local 3A
I'm sure "they" is Gibbons, I really don't think they will win their conference this year. OHS will be pretty darn strong, along with Chapel Hill.
RE: Local 3A
Yes it is gibbons, just responding to gww3001
RE: Local 3A
nobody will beat havelock.....they are loaded again
RE: Local 3A
As long as Gibbons is playing in a public school conference, they will do well every year. Advantage Gibbons !
RE: Local 3A
Yeah. As a CG fan, I'd love to see them in the Independent league too, where they would certainly challenge to win the state championship every year. Most of their incoming freshman have never played much organized football before, coming from catholic middle schools with no football programs. Really convenient to claim "recruiting" and "scholarships" for their success. Both are completely inaccurate and false. Fact is they have some talented kids, but more hardworking kids, and dedicated coaches, fans, and parents. Total witch hunt.
