Cleveland Football
With all of their advantages how will Cleveland do this year
RE: Cleveland Football
What kind of advantages does Cleveland have on anybody else?
RE: Cleveland Football
The fact that the superintendent allowed the principal to hire an entire staff including the coaches wife from outside the county is a pretty big advantge. The other new school had to hire from within the county. Nothing wrong with it, if you are allowed to more power to you.
RE: Cleveland Football
Cleveland's advantages are equivalent to the number of state football titles won by high school teams in & around the Cary area, which is......
...care to guess?
RE: Cleveland Football
Championships come from the top authority.
Great principals/superintendents hire great people. By that I mean great coaches. They support those coaches and allow them to do what they do best. You got a great coach, you got a great team.
Notice the order of that chain. Again, administrators win you more than you think!!!
RE: Cleveland Football
For a program to thrive, it takes a solid commitment to winning by ALL associated with a given program. With that said, scaldeddog was suggesting something else. Maybe he can enlighten us on open enrollment policies, reassignment abuse, and solid recruiting practices in the future, ya know, things we often hear about. Now....those are real "advantages".

BattlingBishop: Here is the thing...if I am a parent with a kid that has a some athletic ability I want him or her to go to a school where the coaches are competent, hard working and can communicate with parents and athletes. I don't want my child to go to a school where the coaches are past their prime and can't accept that football is played differently now than it was in the 1980's. Plus I want my son to wear a lighter color blue.
RE: Cleveland Football
ntheweeds, I don't have an issue with parents looking after their kids. Every parent should want the absolute best for their child. If a parent wants their kid to attend Cleveland, for example, why not just move into the Cleveland area? The lighter color blue does look pretty good although Trojan blue is pretty good too. :)
RE: Cleveland Football
I pretty much agree with cegan....a good principal is key to putting together a good staff overall. I think they asked for some things at Cleveland and got them. I doubt they got to hire every single person they wanted...why would anyone not want to hire the people they wanted...makes perfect sense to me
