What Effects is School of Choice Going to Have on This Fall?

Wake County has gone to School of Choice Plan. What Schools do you see it helping?

No one anytime soon if you were already in high school you just get grandfathered into the one you were already at unless you moved or made a transfer request (like in the old system)

There have been a couple of moves indicated between Wakefield, Wake Forest and Heritage. Nothing official yet though.

it's going to help the schools and teams that are currently at the top. Parents are going to want their little Jimmys and Joes to go to a program where the coach is going to be able to put them in touch with college coaches.

I think we will start seeing struggling programs no longer having 3-4 year varsity players. Parents who feel their kid "isn't getting enough attention" at a losing school, will feel they need to transfer their "star" to a school that gets more attention because of wins. Although some of these struggling programs have coaches that are great role models and great developers of young men and women and could be better options.

lbeck nailed it. I have seen QBs and RBs play at 2 or 3 different schools in 4 years and never start at any of them. I guess none of the head coaches were smart enough to recognize Johnny's talent.

I hate to say it gentleman...but the same things Wake County schools use to complain about Mecklenburg County Schools will happen in Wake. Pretty soon you will start producing state dominant teams at certain schools. State dominant teams mean actually WINNING the state championship....not just the east.
