RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
I don't think Braxton Berrios will be playing QB this year...last year was an emergency situation and he stepped up for the team...if you play him at QB you take away the best deep threat receiving, your best KO and punt returner, one of your best RBs and arguably your best cover DB on the team...
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
i agree with you on that Teammugs.
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
Berrios would be better as an H-back style of receiver. He has ECU written all over him. Similar to Danny Webster. Hand him the ball and create mismatches on the interior of the defense with his receiving skills. Screens and swing passes
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
Leesville will need a better game plan than just giving the ball to one person to come out of the east.
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
gtrojan03 - Don't worry about Leesville and their skill positions they have a few backs and receivers that are pretty good besides Berrios who's pretty good himself, one in particular that you didn't even see last year, and you didn't get to see Austin Berrios play which was a shame...
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
Not that there is anything wrong with playing at ECU (his older brother is), but Braxton probably will end up at a bigger school than that. UNC, Wake, ECU, Minnesota offered... THE Ohio State University came to see him last week.

RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
Cleveland will be good...but likely loose in 2nd or 3rd round. Hard to catch lightening twice in a row
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
Seems like this post has turned to talking about a Berrios kid, it's about who will win not a player. Lees ville gives up too many points. Hillside will be there again, look for S Granville to make a good run.
RE: Early picks for the Eastern Championships
Agreed. We'll keep it about Leesville then. Leesville's defensive will be solid. They are only losing four players from last years defense. Not sure what scores you are looking at. The only regular season game where they gave up points was against Wakefield, which by the way, they still won. The other points the defense gave up was mainly when the second and third string was in. They will be a very well rounded team again this year. Lots of weapons of offense as well.
