RE: New Bern Football
My preseason rankings of 4a teams in the East based on what I've been hearing on the internet.
1)Britt
2)New Bern
3)Scotland
4)Hillside
5)Leesville
6)Wakefield
7)Garner
8)New Hanover
9)WFR
10)Hoggard
RE: New Bern Football
Britt i must say will still have a load on offense. But what about defense..they'd have to outscore alot of teams to win. NB also. Francis is a nice back..cant speak for any of the others besides scotland. Its over for Hanover lol.
RE: New Bern Football
Accroding to the Britt coaches they said their front 8 may be the best they have had? Return Jordan Williams at Lber 6' 225 4.6 speed and his twin brother Jovan Williams 5'9" 190 4.45 at Safety. Add Stephen Huff who led the team with 14 sacks last year at DE and they have a good nucleas on Defense? They will be young in the secondary however.
RE: New Bern Football
I wonder how that bowel movement felt when Middle Creek sent the bears back home with a playoff loss in 2009? I also wonder how DQ soft they felt when they lost to Green Hope of all people in 2004?? I think those were WAKE county schools. I have great respect for New Bern but noobs like you bring them down.Do us all a favor and take your classless post back to the other boards. We like to keep it a bit more classy than you are used to! BTW if you are gonna dog the WAKE county schools then atleast learn how to do it right. It's RAWLEEEEEEEEEEEE not raleee. Nothing like a down east education!
RE: New Bern Football
In 2009 Middle Creek had a good team, and we had a freshmen QB. Since then he's been 29-3, gone to 2 eastern finals, lost to 2 state champions, and is returning for his senior year in which the bears might have the best team they've had in a while. You aren't taking offense to ct because you're a Clayton Comets fan are you? I know we've been sending them home lately..
RE: New Bern Football
New Bern should be very good this year, but it's done on the field...they may even play as well as some of their nonsensical fans talk...most of the NB fans are smart and proud...some are neither...no comments on Millbrook 2007?...didn't think so...

RE: New Bern Football/Towell Boy
Do you have any connection with anybody at NB,coach,AD,booster Club etc. Maybe they need to expand their program to some top out of state teams and be willing to travel alot of schools are playing top teams from out of state as a matter of fact I know some top schools in GA. that will play them even Byrnes High School in Duncan,SC will play them. Byrnes coach told me he will play anybody,as a matter of fact Byrnes is traveling from SC. to Chesapeake,VA. to play Oscar Smith High School. Oscar Smith is a 3A school in VA. and just started playing top schools from Fla.,Ohio,MD. and SC. just a few years ago some time you got to go outside of your comfort zone to get that national recognition and Oscar Smith have that now also Byrnes. Butler have it also have NB tried to schedule Butler, they play MT. Tabor alot. Towell Boy do you have any contact at NB?
RE: New Bern Football
I have former friends who are members of the staff.Children of friends play there.I keep up via the net friday night highlite shows. We are located in eastern nc the nearest 4a school is about 37 miles,in our conference the other 4 are 90 plus miles.THe big city 4a are along way from us they use the travel excuse. We have played mt tabor home and home ,we play Hillside home and home. The rest refuse to play us in there place .Less a home and home.I am a proud alum I personally enjoy playoff time when they can not duck us.
RE: New Bern Football
I have not took offense Bearspg. New Bern has an outstanding program and they have beaten Clayton several times in recent history. I am just not a fan of the childish type postings regardless of what team is being discussed.
