From my conversations, the supporters of the Durham PAC6 schools didn’t have a problem with the new conference originally. Things began to change as they read the postings from the GH & PC petition which you can see for yourself here:

So, basically, what you are seeing on "this" board is backlash from the sometimes harsh, incorrect and unfair characterizations of the PAC6 conference, fans and students. Indeed, if the people writing comments in that petition are fans, parents and supporters of GH &PC, I surely hope that the NCHSAA keeps them in the TRI-9.
In addition, I would hope that the PAC6 schools no longer schedule them for regular season sports but I doubt if that happens. That's just my opinion.
I am not affiliated with either conference but there is an obvious taint of elitism and snobbery at work here. Perhaps such attitudes were brought down from up north?

Rollo, thanks for the link. As I read thru the comments, some with good points and some very ignorant, I noticed that the most everyone seemed to be from Green Hope. There were a lot of people who referenced GH and I don't recall any from PC. I have been lumping GH and PC together as if they were one school and one community because of this situation. Reading thru the comments and seeing entitlement written all over them, made me start to separate the 2 as I kept reading people claim GH, then say things that wreaked of ignorance.
The realignment is over now and I hope that hard feelings and any damaged done can be repaired moving forward. Undoubtedly, these 2 schools will cross paths with PAC 6 schools from Durham and I hope that sportsmanship and citizenship prevail.
