RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
Jamal that was one of your top 10 comments on this board!!!So PC and Green Hope can't make any money from football????? Do you know how many games have been sold out at Hillside. If it's about finance then it should be a benefit to schedule Jordan and Hillside. Or are you afraid of little dorthy watching a football game on fayeetville street.
If you are scared of the bull city just say it!

Doesn't matter if Hillside sells out their HOME games or not. Home team keeps that money. The real question is will Hillside and other schools bring the large numbers to games AT PC and GH? That is the real question. And I only bring up HHS because you placed them in the discussion above. You could insert any of the PAC-6 schools. Reality is that at a PC home game - the visitor stands for their Tri-9 games are typically 3/4's to full. If the PAC-6 schools aren't able to match that type of consistent AWAY attendance at PC or GH then the fact that HHS sells out their home games means exactly zilch.
I imagine that this is about a lot of things - I can think of a good many, but I think there are some fiscal elements involved and the reality is that unlike almost every other thing in America, this fiscal aspect ISN'T about someone getting rich or not. Rather, it's about a good situation currently that allows for two HS's to provide to their student-athletes and community because of that good situation. Point is that if what they currently bring in isn't retained then everyone probably takes a bit of a hit. If that is the case, then I certainly can't fault folks for putting the effort forward to protect the status quo.

Looks like they are going to try and get East Chapel Hill moved back up to 4A since somehow they failed to notice that their ADM was reported as being 40 less than it actually was. Given how close their numbers were to the 3A/4A line how could they (ECH) have missed this? I guess this could provide PC and GH with the opening they need to remain in the Tri9. kind of makes you go huh.
RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
desperate to stay out of the PAC 6 conference...waist of time
RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
durhamfbfan can you make your point a little quicker you lose everybody after 20 sentences. This discussion really doesn't matter because money rules this world. Panther Creek and Green Hope will not be in the PAC-6. Money talks!!!!!
RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
Why is this all about football? I've been to PC to see BB games, girls and boys and if it wasn't for the 30 or so students that show up there would be nobody there. That's sure not the case in Pac6 BB.So people jn Wake Cty do not need to say that fans from the Pac6 will not show up for away games jn football when in fact PC can't get support for their home BB games.
RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
Please let them stay were they are!!! This mess is ridiculous!!!! So please don't join the PAC-6. Let Southern and East stay, and lets get ready for some football.. All this other is ridiculous!!!!
RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
As I have been reading the posts, I've only seen one side talking about this and getting more and more angry. I haven't seen PC or GH supporters on here arguing their side. It seems very personal to the Durham side as if someone has called them out. I'm reading about racism, classism, money talks, they are afraid of Durham, they don't want to play Durham schools and more. The only recent rebuttal that I've seen came from durhamfbfan. Is it possible that PC and GH just want to stay in their current conference for the rivalries that have been created, which brings revenue to the 35 or so teams that the schools field. Does racism, classism and scaredy catism have to come into play? As I and others on here that don't have a dog in the fight have said, I don't blame them for exhausting all avenues. You can blame them if you want but at least respect the admin for standing behind their original stance and seeing it through. It will be over one way or the other by week's end and I hope this thread comes to an end with it.

I don't have a problem with their appeal, but in all fairness they have been given their day to appeal and they lost. I believe there about a 50/50 chance that due to East Chapel Hill mess, the NCHSAA will give more consideration to keeping them with their conference. However, the NCHSAA doesn't like to set themselves up to this everytime a school is displaced.
RE: Panther Creek & Green Hope's Selfish Idea
scaldeddog2000, I agree with you. The NCHSAA definitely does not like to see a precedent set for future schools, but at the same time, they have the appeals and such built into the process. The ECH deal puts a whole new spin on this and may be the loop hole that the schools need to stay put. I actually like the way GH and PC have gone about the process. They have presented options that involved all schools affected by the NCHSAA drafts and even had positive feedback from the association on the mega conference proposals. They even had proposals that had them in the same conference as all of the Durham schools. Don't be surprised if you see the association create at a mega conference during the next realignment.
