Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
Coaches, if you don't have a good report to give the recruiters about a player then maybe you need to delegate that authority to a coach that can be more optimistic about the player's prospects....enough said
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
Coaches also have reputations. If a coach says that all of his kids are great when they are not, it ruins it for future kids down the line because why would recruiters believe the coach anymore?

Sometimes the truth hurts!
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
the truth is the truth, and your truth may be different from mine or a recruiter with a vision fpr true potential . It's funny how many players have had the truth said about them and then go on to careers in the NFL. It all just seems like a game to me I guess with a lot of highly recruited players from the recent past washing out and those who got no respect making it big...just a game
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
Ok UPS...WOW! Hope whomever the message is intended for reads the forum!!
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
Not too many NFL players have had their high school coach sabotage their careers. I would venture to say, no NFL player had their HS coach sabotage their future. The player's ability, personal actions or inactions are responsible for their own sabotage.
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
Good report? Give them their grade transcripts and give them film of their three best games. That's all a recruiter needs in order to make a decision. That would be what I like to call...their job
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
after they get the transcript and film, the college coach still has a large group to choose from that are all basically the same. They ask the coach other questions to narrow down their choices. This is how the world works in any profession. Want a good recommendation? work hard, be a team player and don't cause drama. Don't like that? Move to another planet.
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
What coach wants to see any player not go to college and play? The more players you have playing in college the better your program will be in the long run.
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
If a coach gives a recruiter a less than glowing recommendation, it's for good reason.
RE: Coaches , graduating seniors, and recruiters
I think what ups is saying is that if you dont have anything good to say about the kid then let the coach who might say something good about the kid speak to the recruiter.
I totally disagree with this. It is the HS coaches obligation to be honest with the recruiters.
If ups's son's or relatives coach said something negative to the recruiters then it must be warranted. I know alot of HS coaches and they want their kids to move on and do good things in college.
