Elon offers Heritage's Baker

Heritage Husky football player Matt Baker earned his first offer from Elon on Friday morning, according to Heritage head coach Jason McGeorge.

Baker, a 6-foot, 208-pound rising senior primarily plays running back and outside linebacker at Heritage. He scored twice in the team's season-ending loss to Scotland County in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs in 2013.

As a team, Baker and Heritage played to a 6-6 overall record in 2013 and a 3-4 mark in the 4-A Cap-8 Conference.

Heritage begins its fourth varsity football season Aug. 22 on the road against Holly Springs.
