— Clayton junior wide receiver Devin Carter received his first scholarship offer Tuesday from Elon University, sources told HighSchoolOT.com.

Carter confirmed his offer Tuesday afternoon via Twitter.

Carter became the first wide receiver in North Carolina history with a touchdown reception in eight-straight games last season.

The standout receiver led the Comets with 78 catches for 1,167 yards and 15 touchdowns in his junior campaign.

Carter has garnered interest from all three Atlantic Coast Conference football programs in the Triangle, having attended Duke, North Carolina and NC State’s on-campus junior days.
