David Green hired as Green Hope football coach

Posted January 4

— David Green will be the next head football coach at Green Hope High School.

The school made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon during a press conference at the school.

Green has served as the football coach at Enloe High School the last two seasons, compiling a record of 3-19. Prior to that, Green spent four seasons as Williams High School in Burlington, posting a record of 27-23.

In Wake County, Green is well known for his time at Leesville Road High School where he spent six seasons, posting a record of 52-24 and winning two Cap 8 championships. The Pride also had a regional final appearance under Green.

Green is replacing Kwame Dixon who stepped down as the head coach after the 2016 season. The Falcons, a member of the Southwest Wake Athletic Conference, were 6-6 last season, falling to Garner in the first round of the 4-AA state playoffs.
