Cornell, Columbia offer Heritage junior DL Joe Kane

— Heritage standout defensive lineman Joe Kane has added two Ivy League football programs to his list of potential suitors after receiving offers from Columbia and Cornell in the past two days.

Kane announced late Wednesday evening that the Big Red extended an offer, and he took to Twitter Thursday evening to announce the Lions' offer.


The 2016 CAP 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Year now holds 14 offers from Appalachian State, UNC-Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Columbia, Cornell, Elon, Furman, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jacksonville, UMass, Syracuse, Virginia Military Institute and Wofford.

Kane led the CAP 8 Conference and ranked ninth in North Carolina with 19.5 sacks last season. He also tallied 85 tackles – 47.5 for loss – one forced fumble and one safety last season.
