Players and coaches are being notified this week of student-athletes who have been selected for the 2010 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
On Tuesday morning, HighSchoolOT.com confirmed that Hillside quarterback Vad Lee and Southern Durham defensive back Sherman Ragland were selected to the Shrine Bowl. By Tuesday evening, Jordan athlete T.J. Thorpe and Fuquay-Varina defensive lineman Shawn Underwood were also added to the list.
Sources told HighSchoolOT.com Tuesday that Broughton athlete Juston Burris was also selected to the team.
Lee has committed to play at Georgia Tech next season, while Ragland will play at Wake Forest and Burris at N.C. State. Thorpe and Underwood have both committed to North Carolina.
Shrine Bowl selections are expected to be officially announced this week.
The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas is an all-star football game between the best senior football players from North Carolina and the best from South Carolina. The annual event will be held on Dec. 18, at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.
