Several area players are racking up interceptions this season.
Panther Creek defensive back Isaiah Johnson has recorded three interception in three games. One of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
Johnson is not the only player to get three interceptions on the season so far.
B.J. Fields of South View, Kendrick Harris of Triton, and Jordan Hill of Douglas Byrd have all recorded three interceptions. All three players are juniors.
Seniors Donte Johnson of Cary, DeKendrick Smith of Athens Drive and Josh Thorpe of South Granville are also at the there interception mark this season.
According to NCPreps.com, no player in the state has more than four interceptions on the season. Three players have recorded four interceptions so far tihs season - Angelo Bobbitt of Graham, Lavert Butchee of Reidsville, and Austin Stewart of Butler.
