East Chapel Hill High School will name Bill Renner as the school's next head football coach, multiple sources at the high school have told

The official announcement is slated for 4:15 p.m., on Friday.

Renner is the father of North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner and played college and professional football himself. Ironically, North Carolina head football coach Butch Davis' son, Drew, a rising junior, is the quarterback at East Chapel Hill.

Former East Chapel Hill head football coach Darian Harris was let go from his teaching position in April due to budget cuts in the school system. As a result, the head football coaching position became open as well.

Harris told at the time that he wants to get back into coaching but didn't know if it would happen this coming season. He speculated he would likely end up in Durham Public Schools.

Harris taught marketing and business classes at East Chapel Hill.

Last season, the Wildcats were 1-10 overall.

Harnett Central High School is also slated to announce it's next head football coach on Friday afternoon. The Trojans will hold a press conference at 2:15 p.m.

So the former coach falls victim to "budget cuts" and the future quarterbacks father becomes the head coach at the local high school. If it looks and acts like a rat, then it's prob a rat!
