Harnett Central's Spears sticks it to Garner

Jarrod Spears powered for 169 yards on the ground and powerful Harnett Central hammered Garner 34-9 Friday night in a Greater Neuse game.

Spears carried 20 times as Harnett Central busted out 291 yards rushing. Brian Taylor also threw for 78 yards for the winners.

Harnett Central is now 11-0 overall in their first year of 4-A football and 7-0 in Greater Neuse play. Garner is 6-5 and 4-3.

You might want to mention that Garner played with a freshman QB as their starting QB suffered a concussion suffered the previous week. Not that this would have made much of a difference in who won or lost however.
