Dual team tennis brackets released by NCHSAA

CHAPEL HILL — The N.C. High School Athletic Association has released the 2009 girls dual team tennis playoff brackets for all classifications.

The 1-A and 2-A brackets were not released until early Monday evening because some conferences were late reporting qualifying teams. The qualifiers were supposed to be reported to the NCHSAA by 6 a.m., on Monday.

The Tri-9 conference got four teams into the playoffs. Conference champion Green Hope and runner-up Panther Creek both got automatic bids, but Athens Drive and Apex both got at-large wild card berths.

The first round will be played Tuesday, Oct. 20. District rounds will be played Oct. 27, sectionals on Nov. 3, and regionals on Nov. 5. The dual team state championships will be held on Nov. 7.
