South Stanly QB commits to East Carolina

NORWOOD — South Stanly quarterback Desmond Brown committed to East Carolina on Monday, ending his recruiting process.

Brown, a 6-foot-1, 187-pound quarterback, transferred to South Stanly mid-season in 2008. Due to the trasnfer, He played in just six games but racked up nearly 1,000 yards passing and 4,00 yards rushing.

According to Scout.com, Brown is a two star quarterback.

At the 2009 Scout.com Combine in Charlotte, Brown recorded a forty yard dash time of 4.87 seconds.

The rising senior picked the in-state Pirates over offers from Arkansas, Louisville and Wofford.

Brown's commitment makes four for East Carolina from the Class of 2010. Brown joins Frederick (Md.) Gov. Thomas Johnson middle linebacker Jeremy Grove, Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian offensive tackle Drew Gentry, and Charlotte Providence safety Damon Magazu.
