RALEIGH — Aziel Faison put Enloe on the board in the first quarter with a 60-yard touchdown run, and despite the missed point-after, the Eagles never looked back on their way to a 25-3 rout of Broughton.
Faison, who had 231-yards on the ground, scored his second of four touchdowns on a 20-yard run in the second quarter. The Eagles went up 12-0 after the two-point conversion try failed, but Broughton kicker Jeremy Shelley hit a 24-yard field goal to cut the lead to nine-points.
Enloe led 12-3 at the half.
Faison scored twice in the third quarter. His first touchdown came off of a 28-yard run, and his second was off of a 31-yard run. After Faison's last touchdown, Matt Jurek hit the point-after to put Enloe up 25-3, and with no team scoring in the fourth quarter, Broughton fell hard to Enloe.
The Eagles ran the ball 46 times for 296-yards against the Caps, while Broughton had 108-yards on 38 carries.
Sean Sheppard led Broughton in rushing with 76-yards.
Enloe didn't have a single pass completion against Broughton, though. Jurek attempted two passes, but didn't complete either.
Broughton quarterback Chandler Browning didn't play on Friday night, one week after suffering a concussion against Wake Forest-Rolesville.
John Bundy filled in for Browning under center, and he completed two of eight passes for 23-yards. Rob Foster caught both of Bundy's passes.
Steacey Lucas also played quarterback for Broughton, but Lucas didn't complete either of his two pass attempts.
Enloe advances to 5-3 on the season and 1-2 in the Cap Seven Conference. Broughton falls to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Broughton will have next week off, and they will certainly use the extra time not only to prepare for Wakefield on Halloween, but to get some guys healed up.
Enloe has already had their bye week, and they will play host to Wakefield next week.
