Millbrook pitches another shutout, beats East Wake

Sep 6, 2008

The Millbrook Wildcats advanced to 3-0 Friday with a big 49-0 win over East Wake.

The downpours and breezy conditions didn't stop the Millbrook offense, and the first play of the game was a 32-yard touchdown pass from Brian Kass to Brad Williams.

Kuwon Eldrdige took it in on the ground from 11-yards out later in the first quarter, and Millbrook had the early 14-0 lead.

In the second quarter, the Cats would score 14 more points.

Eldridge again took it into the end zone with his speedy ground attack, this time from 16-yards out. Malik Fair returned a punt 77-yards for a touchdown minutes later, and Millbrook led 28-0 at the break.

Eldridge would score one last time in the third quarter. The Wildcats' first touchdown of the second half came from Eldridge, and it was another rushing touchdown. The 20-yard touchdown run and the point-after attempt made the score 35-0.

Scott Gray also recorded a three-yard touchdown run.

On the night, Kass completed 7 of 14 passes for 159-yards and a sole touchdown pass to Williams. Garrett Redmond led Millbrook in receiver, though, with 99-yards. Eldridge had 10 carries for 104-yards against the Warriors.

Everybody keeps talking about Wake Forest-Rolesville but what about them Millbrook Wildcats and that suppose to be weak defense. Two shoutout of a good Garner team and a weak East Wake team and hold a good Knightdale team to 19 points.Taking away the opening kickoff and a meaningless 4th quarter touchdown they would have held them to 6.I am a 1991 Millbrook alumi and its just good to see Millbrook back on top again.Keep it up Kass and Kuwon!
