The Raleigh Titans edged the AFC Rangers Friday night in a low-scoring, defensive minded game.
The Titans struck first in the second quarter, blocking a punt which resulted in a safety. Moments later, Marquell Harring broke a 42-yard run to score the Titans' only touchdown of the game.
The extra-point attempt failed.
The Rangers weren't going to lie down for the Titans, though.
AFC Rangers struck on a 25-yard pass, and because of the safety, they had to go for the two-point conversion. The attempt failed, and the Titans still led 8-6.
No scores, no change in the second half, and the Titans advance to 2-0 in their inaugural season.
