The Panther Creek Catamounts lost to Leesville Road in their opening week by 11-points, and after being on the verge of a blowout Friday night, the Catamounts battled back but fell just short of Sanderson.
Sanderson too the commanding lead in the first half. At the break, Sanderson led Panther Creek 20-3, led by the outstanding play of Jeff Massey.
Massey scored the first touchdown for Sanderson on a 74-yard run, but aded another touchdown off of a 15-yard pass from Matt James.
Panther Creek was able to hold the Spartans scoreless in the third quarter, but the Catamount offense struggled as well.
In the fourth quarter, Massey scored one last touchdown for Sanderson taking it to the ground from one-yard out.
Panther Creek's G. Love caught a 22-yard pass from Gray Mazzone, though, and that was followed by a nother 22-yard pass from Mazzone, this time to Q. Wright for the touchdown.
Despite scoring 20-points in the final quarter of play, Panther Creek fell short.
Sanderson spoils the Catamount comeback, knocking off Panther Creek 27-23.
