The Green Hope Falcons are looking to get back into the ranks of the top teams in the Tri-Eight Conference this year, but the Jordan Falcons are looking to compete for a conference title in the PAC-Six.
On Friday, the two teams will meet at Green Hope in the HighSchoolOT.com Game of the Week.
Green Hope fell last week to the Wakefield Wolverines. After tying the game at seven-points in the second quarter, the Wolverines went on a scoring rampage, and despite seven Wolverine turnovers, Green Hope couldn't score more than 15-points.
Head coach Steve Katz will look for his team to capitalize on any mistakes that Jordan makes this week.
Green Hope will likely be looking for another strong showing from sophomore quarterback Kameron Bryant. In a losing effort against Wakefield, Bryant completed 18 of 26 passes for a whopping 286-yards and one touchdown.
The defense for Green Hope will be the key. Wakefield scored a lot in the second half, and Green Hope will have to be able to stop the Jordan offensive attack.
The Jordan Falcons are loaded this season, and they will be capable of competing for the conference title in the PAC-Six. Before they get to conference play, though, Jordan will have to take care of business at Green Hope.
The offensive power for Jordan will come for J.R. Rhodes. Last season, Rhodes averaged over 100-yards per game on the ground, and had a decent receiving ability as well. This season, Rhodes should have even more stats to go with his already impressive resume.
Cornerback Torrence Hunt will anchor the defense for Jordan, and it may be hard for Green Hope to score against their opponents Friday night.
Jordan will look to establish their control early, and Green Hope will need to be playing their A-game.
HighSchoolOT.com will take a more in-depth look at the Green Hope squad on Wednesday, and on Thursday we'll look at the Jordan football team. Come back to HighSchoolOT.com each day this week for coverage of the Game of the Week!
