Garner wide receiver Josh Brooks did not play in Garner's two preseason scrimmages against Broughton and at the Pigskin Kick-Off last week.
he junior is not expected to play in the first two games of the regular season either, according to a report by the News & Observer. Brooks' name, however, is not listed on the Garner roster from the Pigskin Kick-Off at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School on Friday night.
The report also stated that Brooks had not participated in practice this season.
The Trojans will host Millbrook on Friday in the HighSchoolOT.com Game of the Week, and will travel to Middle Creek the following week. Both opponents are expected to have good seasons in 2008.
Brooks was an integral part of the Garner offense last season. As a sophomore, Brooks recorded 813-yards on receptions for 11 touchdowns.
Brooks is listed as 6-foot-5, and he was named to the 2007 Greater Neuse River All-Conference Team.
