Student Section Showdown finalists announced, voting open

Six finalists have been announced for the 2012 HighSchoolOT.com Student Section Showdown.

The champion will be decided by a text message voting campaign. Voting is open now through Oct. 11, at 11:59 p.m.

Anyone can vote by texting the word "showdown" to 46988. Voting is free, but standard text message rates may apply.

The six finalists are (in alphabetical order):

  • Fuquay-Varina Orange Crush
  • Garner Blue Crew
  • Holly Springs Purple Craze
  • Leesville Road Loonies
  • Middle Creek Crazies
  • Panther Creek Catamount Chaos

The Garner Blue Crew won last year's Student Section Showdown, the first year the contest was decided by a vote of the fans. In 2010, the Panther Creek Catamount Chaos took home the title, and the Leesville Road Loonies won the first ever Student Section Showdown in 2009.

In October, HighSchoolOT.com will present the champion with a Student Section Showdown championship banner at a home game.
