Millbrook High School's Katelyn Mitchell has committed to play college basketball at UNC-Pembroke.
Since her freshman year, Mitchell has been on the Wildcats' varsity basketball team.
"Katelyn's versatility has been a blessing for me over the last three years," Millbrook coach Chris East said. "She shoots it well enough so people have to guard her closely on the perimeter, yet strong enough to score on the block down low."
Mitchell helped Millbrook to appearances in the last two N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A state championship games. Last year, the Wildcats defeated West Forsyth to win the title.
"Katelyn sees the floor really well and has a high basketball IQ," said East.
UNC-Pembroke is coached by John Haskins.
Mitchell will complete her senior season at Millbrook this year.
