North Lenoir to forfeit last week's win

North Lenoir High School will forfeit last week's win over West Montgomery, according to a report in the Kinston Free Press.

The newspaper reported Monday that North Lenoir found an academically ineligible player participated in the game on Friday. North Lenoir won the game 19-14, but will forfeit the win back to West Montgomery.

North Lenoir now reports an 0-2 record after losing to Greene Central in week one, 21-19.

In addition to the ineligible player not being allowed to play and the team forfeiting Friday's win, North Lenoir could also face a fine from the N.C. High School Athletic Association.

The NCHSAA was not immediately available to comment on Monday afternoon.
