After a 7-10-4 campaign last season, Broughton coach Nick Wheeler was looking for a win to start the 2012 season.
Jordan traveled to Broughton on Tuesday night for the season opener for both teams, but a 1-0 win for the Falcons means the Caps start the season with a non-conference loss.
Both teams missed opportunities in the first half to score, but out of the break, adjustments favored Jordan.
In the 36th minute, Yosef Teffera passed the ball from the left side of the goal to Flynn Marron who scored on a header, giving Teffera an assist.
It was the only goal of the game, despite several more close calls by the Falcons. Broughton had multiple opportunities to tie the game in the final minutes of the second half, but could not connect.
Next, Jordan (1-0) will play Enloe on Thursday night. The next game for the Caps will be at Cary on Thursday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
