Another Millbrook High School basketball player has committed to play hoops in college.
Rising senior guard Mykia Jones verbally committed to Wake Forest, Millbrook girls basketball coach Chris East confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
Jones is a 5-foot-8 point guard, and is ranked a 3-star prospect by ESPN.
"Mykia is a great ball handler and she can knock down jump shots for us," said East.
Millbrook won the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A state championship this past season, one year after making it to the championship game and finishing as the runner-up. This past season was also the first year Jones played with the Wildcats.
"I think two years ago we were missing that jet-quick guard that could really lock someone down on defense, and that's what Mykia brought us this past year," East said.
Jones averaged ten points per game and led the team with four steals per game.
"I think she'll have an opportunity to go in and contribute immediately (at Wake Forest)," said East.
