Rain that expected to fall across the area Tuesday and Wednesday, combined with already wet field conditions, have caused Clayton High School to postpone the Highway 70 Jamboree.
Clayton football coach Gary Fowler said Tuesday morning that some teams may have scheduling conflicts with Thursday, and they will revise the schedule and release it later in the day.
The Highway 70 Jamboree is in its third season. Last season, the jamboree was held at Garner High School.
Teams slated to participate in the event this year include Clayton, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Northern Durham, Richmond County, Southeast Raleigh, Wake Forest-Rolesville and West Johnston.
High school football teams are allowed to participate in scrimmages this week beginning on Wednesday and lasting through Saturday.
