Thomas Griffis hired at Grimsley

Grimsley High School has named Thomas Griffis as its new men's head basketball coach, according to reports in the Greensboro News and Record.

Griffis played collegiately at North Carolina A&T after his graduation from Athens Drive High School in Raleigh. He has previously coached at Upper Room Christian Academy at the middle school leve, Athens Drive, Enloe, Southeast Raleigh and Wakefield. Last year he coached the junior varsity team at Southeast Raleigh.

He will replace Darren Corbett, who leaves Grimsley after 10 seasons to take an assistant coaching job at A&T.
