Holiday Invitational field to be announced tonight

The field for this year's HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational will be released on Wednesday.

A total of 24 teams – 16 boys teams and eight girls teams – were selected for the Holiday Invitational, an annual event in its 41st season.

HighSchoolOT.com's Nick Stevens will host a short selection show to announce the field for the Holiday Invitational on Wednesday at 7 p.m., on HighSchoolOT.com.

Traditionally, the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational is one of the top high school basketball tournaments in the country, attracting some of the top talent in the state and nationally.

This season will be no different. The field features players who have committed and other players who are receiving interest from area Atlantic Coast Conference schools – Duke, NC State and North Carolina.

One player who is attending the event is the No. 1 ranked player in his class nationally, according to ESPN.

The tournament will be held on Dec. 26-29, at Broughton High School's Holliday Gymnasium and Cary Academy's Fitness Center.
