The East squad defeated the West 34-9 in the NCCA East-West All-Star game Wednesday at Jamieson Stadium in Greensboro.
It didn't take long for the East team to put up the first points, with 6:52 to go in the first quarter Donjore' Gainey scores a 4-yard TD run.
West started their ensuing drive on their own 20 yard line, but came out driving. Unable to get it into the endzone, they settled for a 25-yard field goal from Chad Hollandsworth of East Forsyth with 2:48 left in the first.
At the end of the first East led West 7-3.
Right out of the gate, East's Ja'Quil Capel of W Montgomery gets a 10 yard touchdown run for East. They led the West 14-3 with 11:40 left in the second quarter.
Capel finds the end zone again on a one yard touchdown run increasing the East lead to 21-3 with 7:26 to go in the half.
A 42 yard field goal attempt by East's Zach LaHaie goes wide left, keeping the halftime score at 21-3 East.
Midway through the third Capel was at it again with an 11 yard touchdown on the QB keeper. East pushed the lead to 28-3 over the West.
Late into the fourth West's Marcus McDowell of E Lincoln scored on 21 yard pass from Taylor McCurry of Enka. The two-point conversion attempt failed leaving the score 28-9 East with 5:08 to play.
Capel decides to take it home one more time scoring on a 45 yard TD run for the East, With 1:55 left in the game the point after attempt is blocked. Bringing the 34-9 score until the end.
A crowd of 7,623 took in the dominant performance by the East as well as a halftime fireworks show.
Despite the win in football, East only went 1-3-1 in All-Star Week.
